We live in California (South bay area) and our apartment needs repair so the manager evacuated the entire 1st floor and paid for our stay at a hotel.

Repairs:
Basic remodeling
Overall painting
Carpet removal and replacement

Now she tells us they are one man short on the crew for moving around the furniture in our apartments. Thus, she gave US an option of paying for an extra workman OR we can come in and help ourselves. Well, what if one of us gets injured? How will that play out legally? Everyone has a job to go to, how are we to help? This makes no sense.

Doesn’t this sound ridiculous? How legal and rational is this for them to give us that option?

Also, shouldn’t our rent be discounted since we’ve not been able to use our apartments for a couple weeks now? The electricity is still on and viable but we don’t have access from 8am till 8 pm.

Me and my wife started our divorce a year ago we are now complete. The marital home she stayed there and I moved out. I left with items we agreed to take to my new place but was not able to leave with all my possessions. Now that our divorce is done our papers state that neither one of us can lay claim to items currently in the others possession. A month ago my Ex moved from our marital home and has left it to be foreclosed on. She left furniture and such that she plans to come back and get but these items have been there over a month. My name is still on the mortgage and I want to know if I can go and take those items she left over a month ago. She told me since I did not take all my items when I moved a year ago they were not mine. Now neither of us live there and those items were left. Does it matter if she is coming back to get them it may be weeks or months before she gets them. What to do?
It cannot be breaking and entering I still have a key to the property she did not get the house in the divorce she stayed I left and then she left she abandoned the home and moved out. She intends to return and get those items but has given no time frame for their removal the home has been vacant over a month awaiting foreclosure which is expected.

my 8 yr. old son has managed to pee on both the sofa and recliner while sleeping on them and although i cleaned them as best i could i still can’t seem to get the smell completley out, i have heard about some stuff for pet urine removal but do they have something to remove this smell please give some serious advice and p.s. i can not afford new furniture.

I have already contacted a removals company who quoted E7000 to move everything. This is way out of our budget. I have been told by people that it is possible to rent a container to ship our stuff but so far have not been able to find anyone to do this. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can do this move without breaking the bank?

ok we have thin walls XD and the tv in the living room no matter how low you put it unless its on mute or 0 which is the same as being mute anyway so yea you get it now I want to know is there some thing I can get besides thicker walls or a new tv that can fix this problem?
we thought about rearranging the furniture but then I’d be the victim of the noise and the way our house is laid out there is only two ways it can go my wall or hers I said I didn’t mind but my mother is a saint and yea but I can tell its driving her up the walls, is there a way or something we could get her that would keep the sound from coming through the walls?
I know lame christmas gift but she doesn’t like cooking wear,cloths,jewelry,things that require dusting in order to look pretty, she never plays ps2 games much so yea…. me and dad always receive nah I don’t want anything for christmas this year or a LAZER HAIR REMOVAL!!!!! which we are poor people and all these being hard times so that’s pretty much out of the question >.> and don’t say ear plugs she can not sleep with those on
